FAQs

Q1. What types of gas cylinders does Rama Cylinders manufacture?

Rama Cylinders manufactures high-pressure cylinders for automotive CNG, industrial gases, medical oxygen, hydrogen, acetylene and firefighting applications. Its product portfolio also includes gas storage cascades and cylinders for breathing apparatus applications.

Q2. What is the difference between an NGV cylinder and an industrial gas cylinder?

An NGV cylinder is specifically designed and approved for storing natural gas as vehicle fuel. Industrial gas cylinders are designed for gases used in manufacturing, laboratories, welding and other industrial processes. Their designs, valves, testing requirements and approvals vary according to the intended application.

Q3. What materials are used to manufacture high-pressure gas cylinders?

High-pressure gas cylinders can be manufactured from seamless steel, aluminium alloys or fibre-reinforced composite materials, depending on their application. Rama Cylinders manufactures seamless steel cylinders and also lists Type 3 composite cylinders in its product range. Material selection depends on factors such as working pressure, weight, gas compatibility and applicable standards.

Q4. How are industrial gas cylinders tested for safety?

Depending on the cylinder design and applicable standard, manufacturing tests may include pressure testing, dimensional checks, material inspections and leak testing. These tests help verify that a cylinder meets its specified manufacturing and safety requirements before entering service.

Q5. How do I choose a reliable gas cylinder manufacturer in India?

Check the manufacturer’s relevant certifications, product specifications, approved working pressures and manufacturing experience. It is also important to confirm that the cylinder complies with the standard required for your gas, industry and country of use. Rama Cylinders lists both Indian and international manufacturing standards on its website.
