An acetylene gas cylinder is used to store and transport acetylene gas, which is commonly employed in oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, brazing, and heating applications. Dissolved acetylene refers to acetylene gas that is dissolved in a solvent (commonly acetone) within a porous filler mass inside the cylinder. This process stabilises the highly reactive gas, preventing it from decomposing or exploding under pressure. The filling pressure of an acetylene cylinder is relatively low compared to other industrial gases, typically around 15 bar (220 psi) at 15°C. Rama Cylinders’ acetylene cylinders are designed to safely contain and deliver gas at this working pressure, meeting IS: 7312 standards.
