On Board CNG

The CNG tanks have cylindrical shape and are manufactured to tolerate a working pressure of 200 bar. Various CNG cylinders are available with different diameters and lengths. CNG cylinders are also produced in various specifications, according to the technical features required by different countries.

Research indicates that CNG cylinders can provide safe and reliable fuel storage on a vehicle if properly installed, protected, filled, and maintained. Owner or operators are strongly encouraged to implement practices within their fleets to ensure that CNG cylinders provide safe operation over the life of the vehicle.

Natural gas vehicles with compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinders should be periodically subject to either a general or in-depth inspection to assess the CNG cylinder condition and fitness for continued service. Different countries have different norms for rechecking of cylinders periodically.
